After beginning in polymer importing from Japan, Sanwa diversified its product offering to include Chemicals and Minerals imports into Australia.

Further diversification in metals importing, carbon steels such as structural sections, merchant bars and sheet and coil.

Further diversification into Stainless Steel and Aluminium trading.

Sanwa acquired the Metallurgical and Foundries business from CMC Commercial Metals. This business is one of the leading suppliers of raw materials to the metallurgical and foundries industries in Australia and New Zealand.­­

Sanwa opened its first USA office in New York City to expand its focus onto the North American market.
